The best part about photographing Stacie Harrison was that, within minutes of shooting her, people walking by on 17th made comments about how stylish and “movie starlet”-like she is.
With a head of perfect curls and a beautifully put-together outfit, Stacie truly knocks it out of the park with her style. Her tailored checkered coat and figure-fitting grey maxi dress defines her body shape perfectly, while her black boots and infinity scarf add warmth. I love that she pairs her look with an oversized red leather handbag – it’s the perfect pop of colour!
I caught up with Stacie infront of Leo Boutique just before she ran off to work.
How would you describe your personal style?
I would say relaxed classic with a twist.
What’s the last thing you purchased on 17th Ave.?
Two pairs of jeans from Purr – a high wasted skinny leg and a distressed thin leg.
What else would you like to see on 17th Ave. in the future?
I’d love to see some more unique clothing shops on 17th Ave… Things you can’t find in the mall. Shops that are unique to Calgary. I’d also love to see some more mid-range restaurants with fantastic food.
What’s the funniest/craziest thing you’ve seen on 17th Ave.?
I’ve seen some interesting things on 17th! I’ve seen amazing buskers, breakups and breakdowns, love in bloom, friendships collapse and friendships hold each other up, I’ve seen fist fights and fights for cabs, girls with their skirts over their heads and guys with their shirts off their backs. It’s hard to choose just one thing; I guess you could say I’ve seen a lot of life on 17th Ave!
What are some of your favourite spots on 17th and why?
I love Bar C because it has a great atmosphere, great food and great wine. I’ve made some great memories there with some great people. I love Purr because it has some fabulous go-to pieces and is right down the street from my house. I also love Local 510 for it’s relaxed environment and good, classic fare. I also love the Jugo Juice because the people there are just so darn friendly!
What’s your favourite dish and from where? Drink?
I love the mussels and the molten lava chocolate cake at Bar C. They also had a fabulous red wine from Portugal called Quinta do Cume. It’s not on the menu anymore but it was amazing.
Why do you spend time in this area of the city?
I live in this area of the city so I love how convenient everything is, but even more than that, I love the heartbeat of area. It always feels alive no matter what time of day it is. It’s a great area to people watch too which is one of my favourite past times.
